Hrishikesh D. Vinod (born 1939) is an American economist at the Department of Economics at Fordham University. His areas of specialization include econometrics, macroeconomics, business, and risk management. As of 2023, he is ranked among the top 5% of economists worldwide in terms of the number of distinct works weighted by impact factor.[1] He is also the director of the Institute for Ethics and Economic Policy (IEEP) at Fordham. Education and professional career

Vinod was born and raised in India, where he also completed his undergraduate studies at the Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce in 1959. After receiving a Master of Arts degree from Delhi University in 1961, he earned a full scholarship to attend Harvard University, where he received his Doctor of Philosophy degree in 1966. Thereafter, he migrated to the USA and started his academic career as an assistant professor at California State University, Fullerton. He also worked as a Mathematica consultant at Princeton University from 1966 to 1969, and as a technical staff member at the Bell Laboratoriesfrom 1969 to 1982. Dr. Vinod joined Fordham University in 1982, where he currently serves as a professor of economics. [4]
