The Honorable Henry Randolph Buckley (born August 20, 2007) is an american jurist most widely known as being the youngest judicial officer in the United States. He has served as a Massachusetts Justice of the Peace in Plymouth County in the Town of Hingham.
Early Life
Buckley was born in Boston, Massachusetts to his mother, a nurse in Boston, and his father, a senior U.S. Coast Guard officer. He grew up very close to his grandfather, a state and local politician, and remained close with his grandmother until her death in 2022, when he was 15 years old. While he was 13, Buckley applied to become a Justice of the Peace, knowing it would be "an accomplishment that would define the true ability of youth in governance[1]". On October 19, 2021, Buckley became one of the youngest commissioners in his town to serve. He was appointed to the beautification commission[2] and continues to hold that office.
Legal Career
However young, Buckley continued to have an accomplished career. He is currently serving as a Plymouth County Justice of the Peace[3]. Buckley, as a member of multiple veteran-dependent organizations, has drafted policy to organizationally change the way that veteran-focused non-profits are governed and their focus on youth.
Education
Henry Buckley is a student at Hingham High School, but has taken numerous classes elsewhere. He holds a professional certificate in constitutional law from the ivy-league University of Pennsylvania in Constitutional Law. At ALISON, Buckley holds an advanced diploma in legal studies.
