Heman Chong is a Singaporean artist, writer and curator.He was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 1977 and he grows up in Singapore.[1][2]

He studies how individuals and society envision the future in a conceptual way and creates various objects, images,installations and textual works. He has held solo exhibitions at Wilkinson, London;Rossi & Rossi, London; SOTA Gallery, Singapre; NUS Museum,Singapore; Kunstverein, Milan;Motive Gallery, Amsterdam;Hermès 3rd Floor, Singapore;Vitamin Space, Guangzhou; Art in General, New York; Project Arts Centre, Dublin; Ellen de Bruijne Projects, Amsterdam;Power Station of Art, Singapore;Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin;and Sparwasser HQ, Berlin.He has participated in many important international biennials,including the 7th Asia Pacific Triennial (2012), the 11th Performa Biennial (2011), the 6th Momentum Biennial (2011),the 8th Manifesta Biennial (2010), the 2nd Singapore Biennial (2008), the SCAPE Christchurch Biennial (2006), the Busan Biennial (2004), and the 10th India Triennial (2000). He represented Singapore at the 50th Venice Biennale (2003).His works have been featured in numerous international and regional important publications such as A Prior, Art Asia Pacific,International Art Forum, ArtInfo,Art-iT, Art Lies, Frieze, Artforum,SITE, and Visionaire. In 2006, he initiated a writing workshop with Leif Magne Tangen in Dublin. At the Project Arts Centre in Dublin,they collaborated with Mark Aerial Waller, Cosmin,Costinas,Rosemary Heather, FrancisMcKee, David Reinfurt, and Steve Rushton to co-author a science fiction novel.[3]
