Hell Raton[1], better known as Manuel Zappadu (Olbia, 14 May 1990), is a Italian rapper[2] and record producer.[3] He is the new judge in X Factor Competition 2020[4][5][6][7][8][9]

Biography

Born in Sardinia to a Sardinian father (the photojournalist Antonello Zappadu ) and an Ecuadorian mother, he grew up in Quito only to return to Olbia when he was 11 years old. His passion for rap led him to follow in Salmo's footsteps, with bands such as Skasico and later to Ed Gein and Three Pigs' Trip, before starting a solo career as El Raton and moving to Milan . The Machete Crew was born from the meeting with Salmo , Enigma and DJ Slait , with the aim of supporting the music produced by young Sardinian rappers like them, breaking down barriers and spreading it via the web.[10][11]

In March 2011, the video of the Multicultural song was launched online , shot entirely in London, the city where he lived and worked for a few years before returning to Italy. In the same year he collected the musical material created over time and selected it in the Basura Muzik Vol. 1 mixtape , made available for free; it consists of sixteen songs with collaborations by various Sardinian and non-Sardinian artists. In 2014 Rattopsy EP was released . The rapper has always mainly dealt with the managerial aspect of Machete Empire Records, limiting himself to participating in the various Machete Mixtapes and rarely releasing single works.[12]
