Hasnae Taleb (Arabic: حسناء طالب; born December 8, 1993) is a Moroccan financial executive, television presenter, and entrepreneur based in the United Arab Emirates. She is the managing partner of Mintiply Capital, an investment banking advisory firm, and a partner for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region at Fuel Venture Capital.
Taleb is also known for her work in broadcast media as the host of the financial literacy programme Awwal Malyoun (Arabic: أول مليون, lit. "First Million") on the regional news network Al Mashhad. She is frequently cited in Arab and international media as a commentator on U.S. equity markets, trading psychology, and global investment trends.[1]
Early life and education
Taleb was born in Khénifra, a city in the Middle Atlas region of Morocco.[2] She spent her early childhood in various Moroccan cities before relocating to the United States at the age of 17 to pursue her education. During the same year, she participated in an educational programme at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center.[3]
She attended American University, where she completed a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in 2014. During her undergraduate studies, she developed an interest in financial markets, citing coursework in macroeconomics as a catalyst for her move into equity trading.[4] She later earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Bolton in 2019.
Career
Financial services and investment
Taleb began her professional career in the United States financial sector, focusing on equity trading and technical analysis. In the early stages of her career, she developed trading strategies linked to corporate earnings reports and market volatility, which were discussed in subsequent media interviews.[5]
Regional media outlets, including Mid-Day, identified Taleb as the managing partner of Mintiply Capital, a Dubai-based firm involved in investment advisory and capital markets activities across the Gulf region.[6]
In 2024, Mintiply Capital entered into a strategic partnership with Fuel Venture Capital, a U.S.-based venture capital firm headquartered in Miami. Under the agreement, Taleb was appointed partner for the GCC region, overseeing a dedicated investment vehicle focused on technology startups across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).[7]
She has also contributed opinion articles and commentary to business publications, including Gulf Business, Arabian Business, and Entrepreneur Middle East.[8][9][10]
Media and broadcasting
In January 2023, Taleb joined Al Mashhad, a Dubai-based multi-platform news channel launched by journalist Tony Khalife. She serves as the host of Awwal Malyoun, a weekly television programme focused on financial education.[11]
The programme covers topics such as investment fundamentals, stock market participation, entrepreneurship, startup valuation, and the psychology of wealth management. In addition to her own programme, Taleb appears regularly as a market commentator on platforms including CNBC Arabia, Dubai TV, Bloomberg Asharq, and Medi1 Radio.[12][13]
Public image and recognition
Taleb’s career trajectory has been the subject of profiles in regional and international media, including Al Jazeera, Zahrat Al Khaleej, and Lalla Fatema Magazine.[14][15]
In May 2024, Taleb was referenced by the Arabic-language media division of the United States Department of State in coverage highlighting women in finance. The reference was subsequently cited by international and regional media outlets.[16]
In March 2025, Taleb was invited to ring the bell at the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, an event associated with initiatives promoting diversity and gender representation in capital markets.
