Harsh Jain is an Indian entrepreneur and investor. He is the co-founder and CEO of Dream Sports, a sports technology company that owns brands such as Dream11, FanCode, Dream Capital, DreamSetGo, Dream Game Studios and Dream Foundation.[1][2] He is currently the chairman of the Internet and Mobile Association of India.[3][4][5]
Early life and education
Jain was born in Mumbai to Anand Jain, a leading businessman and Chairman of Jai Corp Limited; and Sushama Jain, a wildlife artist.[6][7] He completed his schooling from Sevenoaks School. He later pursued a degree in engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and has an MBA from Columbia Business School.[8][9]
Career
Dream Sports and Dream11
In June 2008, Jain co-founded Dream11 with Bhavit Seth.[10][11] Dream11 provides a fantasy gaming platform for multiple sports such as fantasy cricket, football, basketball, kabaddi, hockey, volleyball, handball and baseball.[12][13][14]
In April 2019, Dream11 became the first sports technology unicorn in India.[15][16][17]
In November 2021, Dream Sports, parent company of Dream11 became $8 billion company.[18][19]
In 2022, Dream11 had 160 million active users in India.[20]
Red Digital
In July 2010, Jain also co-founded Red Digital, a social media agency which was acquired by GoZoop in July 2013.[21][22]
Federation of Indian Fantasy Sports
In September 2017, Jain became the President of Federation of Indian Fantasy Sports, governing body for fantasy sports in India.[23]
Awards and recognition
In August 2019, Jain was featured in The Economic Times 40 under Forty list of India's top business leaders.[24]
In December 2019, Jain was awarded Newsmaker of the Year by The Indian Express.[25][26]
In June 2021, Jain was also featured in Fortune India 40 under 40 list.[27]
In April 2022, Jain received the Young Entrepreneur Award by All India Management Association (AIMA) in it's 12th edition of the AIMA Managing India Award.[28]
Personal life
Jain is married to Rachana Jain, a dentist. They have two sons.[29]
