Esther Okenyuri Anyieni[1] (born on February 18, 1991) is a Member of Parliament at the Kenyan Senate[2]. nominated[3] by Kenya's ruling Party United Democratic Alliance. She is a member of KEWOPA[4][5], the Vice Chairperson, Senate Standing Committee on Trade, Industrialization and Tourism[6], a member of the Senate Standing Committee[7] on Health[8], and the Powers and Privileges Committee. She is the current Deputy Secretary General of the Kenya Young Parliamentarians Association[9].and the Organizing Secretary of Kenyan Women Senators Association[10]

Senator Esther Okenyuri[2] was gazetted as a Senator as a replacement [11] for Hon. Soipan Tuya[12][13], who was appointed by H.E President William Ruto PhD, EGH as Ministry of Environment Cabinet Secretary.[14]

Political career

Hon Okenyuri was a Student leadership|student leader at the Maasai Mara University[15] students association. Esther was appointed by the Uhuru Kenyatta|President Uhuru Kenyatta to head the Youth Wing of the Jubilee Party Campaigns in Kisii County during the re-election campaigns of the Jubilee Party|Jubilee Government

Between 2017 and 2022 Esther Okenyuri Anyieni worked in the office of the Deputy President as an Assistant Director of Research[16]. She was involved in by-elections that happened in the country between 2017 and 2022 notably; Kiambaa Constituency|Kiambaa, Msambweni and Bonchari Constituencies Parliamentary By-elections.

Towards the 2022 Presidential General elections, Essy founded Women for Ruto Organization;- a women’s movement that campaigned for the United Democratic Movement [17]Presidential Candidate H.E William Samoei Ruto [18]who was declared as the winner of the 2022 Presidential elections by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.

Early life

Esther Okenyuri Anyieni[19] was born on February 18, 1991 in Kenyenya[20] Village in Bomachoge Borabu, to the Late Henry Anyieni Oketch (1956-2006) a civil-servant and Mrs.|Mrs Lydia Nyachija Munema (mother) a high school teacher.

She joined Tarang'aya Girls Primary School for her KCPE education before joining The Kenya High School for her O' levels. She graduated from Maasai Mara University with a BSc. Information science|Information Sciences (Records Management Option) in 2015. She has completed Certified Public Accountant Part One from the Kisii College of accountancy.
