Harinarayan Rajeev is a 20th Visual Effects Society Awards winning Senior Animation Professional and a Multi-Award winning Filmmaker. He is originally from Trivandrum (Kerala, India) and is currently based in Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada).
Animation
Hari has over 16 years of experience working in some of the major Hollywood movies in both Live action and Feature animation and in various roles ranging from an Animation Supervisor, Lead Animator and Senior Animator.
He is well known in the Animation / VFX industry for his experience in handling extremely complicated / challenging shots, ranging from Creatures, Robots, Vehicles, Cartoony and Performance based Animation.
He was also involved in the character development of various iconic characters in both Live action and Feature animation mainly “Jeff” in Finch, “Carnage” in Venom 2, “Baby Kowalski” in Penguins of Madagascar etc.
He is also the first animator from India to win the prestigious "20th Visual Effects Society Awards" in the category "Outstanding Animated Character in a Photoreal Feature" for the Character Jeff,in The movie Finch.
Filmmaker
As a Filmmaker, Hari was involved in the creation of multiple short films in various genres.His latest short films "Sawa" and "Adima" had won multiple awards in various film festivals from across the world. He served the role of a Writer, Director, Editor, Producer, Cinematographer, Sound Designer and Visual Effects Artist in most of his short films. Hari has a passion for Horror / Fantasy / Sci-fi films and has made several short films to explore his love for these genre(s) and to establish his signature filmmaking style.
His comedy short film Gunnass had garnered a lot of attention in Kerala for its humour and situational comedy. It dealt with the story of a man from Thrichur, Kerala looking for the perfect Kerala Tea in London.
Biography
Hari was born in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. He started his animation career at a very young age in Toonz Animation India. Ltd in Trivandrum. Hari eventually moved on to Crest Animation Studios and Prana Studios in Mumbai and in 2012 he joined DreamWorks Animation Dedicated Unit @ Technicolor India, In Bangalore. In 2016 he moved to London to work for Industrial Light & Magic & Magic UK Ltd. and to Montreal, Canada in 2018 to work for Mill Film (current Moving Picture Company) and DNEG.In 2021 he moved to Vancouver, Canada to work for Sony Pictures Imageworks, Canada and Currently he is employed as an Animation Supervisor at The Moving Picture Company's, Canada division.
