Hans Ehm was born in Landshut, Bavaria on 27 April 1960 and grew up in Niederaichbach.

He went to school at Dingolfing and Landshut. He did his 15 months military service at Mittenwald, and studied afterwards Physikalische Technik..[1] at HS Munich[2] and finished with a Dipl Ing. (FH) in 1983. With a Fulbright[3] scholarship he went to Oregon State University[4] and received a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1985. Hans studied Computer Sciences at Fern University[5] in Hagen from 1980 to 1982 and Political Science at Ludwig-Maximilian-University[6] from 1985 to 1990.

He is the Senior Principal of Supply Chain at Infineon Technologies AG[7] and is responsible for Supply Chain Innovations. During his long career in the semiconductor industry, he has held various management and consulting positions in Wafer fabrication|wafer fabrication, assembly and testing, and Global supply chain management|global supply chains.

Hans’s long service in the Semiconductor industry started at Siemens[8] R&D in 1984 in Munich Perlach. He started with scribe line design and soon became a process engineer for Photolithography and wafer inspection with the first KLA2020[9] in Europe.

After this, R&D center was transferred to a production He took 1st over responsibility for maintenance including material warehousing for lithography and wafer inspection and later for Production control, planning, and IT for the Hall84 – some called it the ISTC (Integrated submicron Technology Center) and Hall95.

In ‘95 during his 1.5-year parental leave to become a part time funding manager for the German MBF funded Smart Fabrication CIM Project[10], and related EU projects.

Being back full time he took over production management for the consumer division, which included Headquarters responsibility for the Frontend and backend|BE in Singapore. From 1998 to 2002, Hans was responsible product line management in Corporate Assembly and Test[11] this included the subcontractor (today OSAT) management From 2003 to 2008, Hans was taking care of supply chain excellence of the communication division of Infineon Technologies AG. From 2009 onwards he moved to his current position of being the head of supply chain innovation[12].

Hans supported for many years the development Supply chain operations reference SCOR (Supply Chain Operations Reference) Model of the Supply- Supply Chain Council. From 2008 – 2014 he was the chairman of the European chapter he coordinated the global chapters from 2012 to 2014. After the merger with APICS (today ASCM[13]) he was in 2015 he a Board member of APICS/SCC[14]

Hans is leading the Supply Chain Management Working Group[15] of the ZVEI[16] since 2013.

In 2008, He started giving lectures on supply chain and sustainable supply chain at HS Munich and at the University of Limerick[17]. These lectures continue to this day, initiating innovative curricula. Hans has taught supply chain topics and has built up a global academic network semiconductor supply chain.

Since 2008, he is a member of the International Program Committee of MASM[18] a conference within the Wintersimulation ( WSC[19]) conference of INFORMS[20]

From 2001 to 2020, he was a Member of the Supervisory Board at CamLine Holding AG.

Rewards

In 2015, Hans received the renowned LEO Award (Logistics Excellence Optimization) in the category 'Manager' for his achievements[21]. By 2018, he was recognized as one of the most influential SCM managers in the DACH region at the Supply Chain Management Movement magazine.
