Hamza Abaas (born September 7, 1999), better known by his stage name Hamza Abo$$, is an American rapper from Seattle, Washington.[1][2] In 2021 Hamza Abo$$ oversaw the release of his debut project Im Not Perfect which in addition to amassing over 3.5 million combined YouTube, Soundcloud, and Spotify streams within just a month of it's debut would feature the likes of artists such as Mick Jenkins, Bishop Nehru, Stro, Lord Apex, and Fly Anakin.[3][4] As a rising talent, the artist is best known for his versatile selection of quality melodies and clever wordplay.[5] Hamza Abo$$ has also been featured and published on many ABC, FOX, CBS, and NBC affiliated local news outlets in addition to various other publications such as Yahoo,[6] Marketwatch,[7] The American Reporter,[8] and Ritz Herald.[9][10]
Early life and education
Hamza Abo$$'s family struggled to financially support themselves, often transitioning in and out of various subsidized housing programs throughout the country. Upon arriving in Seattle, his family was met with extremely sparse housing opportunities and were often forced to relocate residences all throughout Seattle's Rainier Beach, Yesler Terrace, and Central District neighborhoods. This ultimately led them to settle into a low income apartment complex right by Downtown Seattle. Despite of this, Hamza Abo$$ would continue to spend the better majority of his youth growing up in Seattle's Central District neighborhood, wherein he was to complete the rest of his K-12 schooling.[11]
Career
It was during his time spent at Garfield High School that Hamza Abo$$ learned of his passion and desire to pursue rap music.[12] It wouldn't be until he turned 21 that he would see the release of his debut project "Im Not Perfect"[13][14] which in addition to amassing over 3.5 million combined YouTube, Soundcloud, and Spotify[15] streams within just a month of it's debut would feature the likes of artists such as Mick Jenkins, Bishop Nehru, Stro, Lord Apex, and Fly Anakin.[16][17]
