Habib Bavi Sajed was born on October 1, 1980, in Ahwaz, Iran. In 1994, at the age of 14, he started his artistic activity in theatre and in 1995, he entered the field of filmmaking. In 1996, at the age of 17, Mr. Bavi Sajed directed his first short film called "From Dream to Reality" and wrote his first film review in 1998. So far, he has written, produced, and directed more than twenty short films, documentaries, and two feature films.

In addition to filmmaking, Mr. Bavi Sajed has worked as a production manager on over 50 short films, documentaries, and television series. Bavi Sajed made the documentary film "Qalamaranj" (about the prominent contemporary leftist writer - Ahmad Mahmoud) featuring influential Iranian leftist artists such as Mahmoud Dolatabadi, Dariush Mehrjoei, Simin Behbahani, Masoud Kimiyai, Manouchehr Atashi, Adnan Gharifi, Mohammad Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Ayubi, Yusuf Azizi Bani Turuf, Behzad Farahani, Mino Farshchi, Ibrahim Yunsi, Mohammad Baharlu, Mohammad Ali Sajjadi, Babak Atafa, Najaf Daryabandari, Ahmed Aghaei, and Masoud Minawi.[1] Sajed is a permanent member of the Iranian Cinema Documentary Directors Association, a European Documentary Network (EDN) member, and a graduate of Abbas Kiarostami's filmmaking course.

He received a bachelor's degree in documentary directing from the Ministry of Culture and Education and the Ministry of Science and Communication due to his long and successful film and artistic career. In addition to cinema, he is active in film and literary criticism. He has published over a hundred articles, reviews, interviews, reports, and translations as well as four book titles. One of the most important cinematic activities in the career of Habib Bavi Sajed is directing the first Arabic movie in the history of Iranian cinema.[2] Before this, in the 119-year history of Iranian cinema, there had never been an Arabic film related to Arabic geography, language, dialect, and theme. In all his works, Bavi Sajed has had a concern and a specific attitude toward climate and ethnic anthropology. He has also tried to address the issues of environment and industrial pollution in several documentaries. Sami, a feature film directed by Habib Bavi Sajed, won the best screenplay award at Russia's 16th Kazan International Film Festival.[3] It was also screened in the competitive section of the 16th Rome International Film Festival[4], the Omid Film Festival in Sweden, and the 10th Nadu International Film Festival in Maghrib. In 2016, Habib Bavi Sajed participated in the jury of the 10th Oman International Film Festival documentary section.
