Gustavs Strenga (born 12 May 1981)[1] is Latvian historian of the Middle Ages. He studied history at the University of Latvia and the Central European University, and gained his PhD in 2014 at the Queen Mary University of London.[2] After working at research institutions in Estonia and Germany, Strenga currently has the position of an associated professor at the Latvian Academy of Culture in Riga.[3]
Strenga is a leading scholar of medieval history in Latvia. He has intensively published on medieval Livonian history and Baltic book history.[4]
His father is Latvian actor and theater personality Juris Strenga.[5]
