Gogmachadze Guladi Djemalovich (born 16 June 1962) is Russian and Georgian scientist in the field of agronomy, biology and ecology, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor of the Department of Agroinformatics of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Honorary Worker of the Agroindustrial Complex of Russia, General Director of the Research Institute of Agroecoinform; philanthropist.[1]

Biography

Gogmachadze Guladi Djemalovich was born in Gvara, the Kobuleti Region of Georgia in 16 June 1962. In 1987 he graduated with honors from the Georgian Agricultural Institute. In 1991 he graduated from the graduate school of the Georgian Research Institute of Agriculture named after Y. N. Lomouri. In 1991 he successfully defended his PhD thesis at the Georgian State Agrarian University, and in 1997 he defended his doctoral dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Agricultural Sciences. In 1993 graduated with honors from the Russian-American International Educational Center "Intercollege" with a degree in manager-broker.In 1993-1999 worked on head positions in business organizations. Since 2002 Mr. Gogmachadze has been appointed director of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise of the All-Russian Research Institute of Informatization of Agronomy and Ecology (FSUE "VNII Agroecoinform"). Since 2004, he has been working part-time at the Department of Agroinformatics of the Faculty of Soil Science of Lomonosov Moscow State University. Editor-in-chief of the peer-reviewed electronic scientific and production journal "AgroEcoInfo", included in the List of the Higher Attestation Commission. Chairman of the Dissertation Council for the defense of doctoral and candidate dissertations in the specialty "Ecology (Biology)" (biological sciences). Since 2001 – Academician of the International Academy of Informatization. In 2005 he was qualified as Professor in Agriculture. In 2007, among the outstanding scientists and leaders, he entered the Encyclopedia "Outstanding Figures of Russia". He was awarded a Certificate of Honor by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. For his services in agro-industrial production, active social work and many years of beneficial work, he was awarded the title of "HONORARY WORKER OF THE AGRO-INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX OF RUSSIA".

At the Oxford summit of leaders (Oxford, UK), held in December 2011, for his great contribution to the development of world science, Gogmachadze G.D. was awarded the International Sokrates award in the field of scientific researches "The Name in Science" and entered into the world register of outstanding scientists of the 21st century.[2]

On March 21st in 2012, at the Royal institute of directors in London on “Sokrates Award Ceremony”, Guladi Djemalovich has received the international awards awarded by the International Sokrates committee of the European business assembly: institute FGUP “VNII Agroecoinform” headed by him was awarded the international award "Best Enterprises" - for the dynamics of the company's growth in its industry, and the Director General of the Institute Gogmachadze G.D. was honored the title "Manager of the year" ("Manager of the Year"). On April 12, 2013, at a gala reception at the Royal Institute of Directors in London, organized by the International Sokratic Committee of the European business assembly, Gogmachadze G.D., Director General of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "VNII Agroecoinform", was elected to the Rectors Club of Europe.

Professor Gogmachadze G.D. is included in the Great Georgian Encyclopedia published by the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia (series "Doctors of Sciences of Georgia", p. 270). Author more than 180 proceedings, 7 monographies and 2 educational-methodical grants: “Corn Cultivation in Adzharia”, “Agroecological monitoring of soils and land resources of Russian Federation”, publishing house of the Moscow university, 597 p., “Soil degradation: causes, effects, ways of decrease and elimination”, publishing house of the Moscow university, 270 p. (the last 2 are admitted by M.V.Lomonosov Moscow State University as manuals for students trained on speciality “Soil science”), “Estimation of Soils’ Fertility”, “Ecology of vegetative resources of Ryazan Region”, “Arable Soils of the Nizhny Novgorod Region”, “P.A.Kostychev - founder of soil science and the outstanding agrochemist (1845-1895)” and “P.A.Kostychev - founder of scientific bases of agronomics (1845-1895)”.[3]

Gogmachadze G.D. is known in the scientific world, both in Russia and abroad. His works are referenced in dissertations, textbooks and manuals, monographs in Russia, USA, China, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Bulgaria, Austria, France, Great Britain, Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, and the monograph "Corn cultivation in Adjara" is in the National Agricultural Library of the USA, the monograph "Agroecological monitoring of soils and land resources of the Russian Federation", "Soil degradation: causes, consequences, ways of reduction and elimination" and "Agroecological assessment of land and optimization of land use" are in the libraries of the President and Congress of the United States, at Harvard University, as well as in the leading educational institutions of the world. Professor Gogmachadze G.Dj. received gratitude for the monographs from the leadership of the Oxford and Cambridge Universities.[4]

The scientific works of Gogmachadze G.D. are of great scientific and economic importance, some of them are fundamental research, and their results are used in the educational process and in the development of agroecological systems of agricultural production for various soil and climatic zones of the Russian Federation.

In 2019, the Guladi Gogmachadzes’ charitable Foundation "God's Grace" built and opened, in the Kobuleti region, in the village of Gvara, the Church of St. Giorgi.
