Green Writers Press is an independent press based in Brattleboro, Vermont. The press is dedicated to spreading environmental awareness and social justice by publishing authors who promulgate messages of hope and renewal through place-based writing, racial justice, and environmental activism. Green Writers Press.</ref> It is considered to be among the top sustainable publishing presses in the United States,[1] The press publishes literary fiction, nonfiction, children's literature, and poetry.

History

Green Writers Press was founded in 2014, and has expanded significantly, publishing authors such as Julia Alvarez, Chard deNiord, former Vermont Governor Madeleine Kunin, Congresswoman Becca Balint, and Clarence Major, was a finalist for the AWP Small Press Publisher Award and was a recipient of The Vermont Literary Inspiration Award in 2019.
