Grant Whitson
Grant Whitson, also known as OMFGrant, (born December 13, 1994) is a professional musician, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and online personality. A founding member of the band Arlington, Grant has also drummed for artists such as Meg & Dia, Zach Hood, Miki Ratsula, and Jenna Victoria.
Career
Musician
In 2018, Whitson’s band Arlington signed with Rise Records[1] and released their debut album A Walk Through Jackson County.[2] To promote the album, the band went on tour opening for Hands Like Houses during November and December of the same year.[3] In 2019, Whitson joined Meg & Dia as their drummer for the HappySad tour in September.[4] Grant auditioned just two days before the tour started and learned 16 songs in one day before the first show. In 2020, he drummed for Meg & Dia once again, opening for Amber Liu.[5] In 2022, Whitson went on tour drumming for Zach Hood, opening for Johnny Orlando and playing a show at Hangout Fest in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Internet Personality
In addition to his music career, Whitson has also made a name for himself as an internet personality. An image of a tweet from 50 Cent that Whitson framed in his bedroom went viral.[6][7] Whitson is also known for his presence on TikTok, where he first gained popularity with his "indie boy" video series.[8][9] He also went viral with a mashup of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion's "WAP" with the "Hannah Montana" theme song[10][11], and another mashup of "WAP" with the Jonas Brothers song “S.O.S."[12] which received attention from Kevin Jonas. In 2022, Riot Fest invited Whitson to tape various music trivia videos that played live at the festival event. Longtime friends The Faim from the 2018 Hands Like Houses tour invited Whitson to join their summer 2022 European tour as a content creator after the band recognized his familiarity with TikTok.
