Graham Stephan (born: April 21, 1990) is an American real estate agent and YouTube personality best known for videos on financial independence, saving money, investing money, and real estate investing. According to his website, he created his YouTube channel to share his "successes, failures, and experiences in the real estate industry and to support others". His Youtube channel was quickly profitable and prolific where there was an absence of Finance and real estate oriented youtubers. [1][2] His interview series has attracted celebrity business people like Kevin O'Leary to come critique and praise him.[3] He is "addicted to Avocado toast" in his own words.
Early Life
Graham Stephan was raised in Santa Monica, California. According to him, his parents ‘lived from paycheck to paycheck’. While attending school, he found the coursework to be pointless; his academic performance suffered as a result.[4]
Prior to his real estate career, he had worked jobs at a marine aquarium wholesaler, a drummer in a band and a data entry job. Stephan says his greatest mistake is not getting a credit card at 18 to build his credit for future investment.
Career
Real Estate
Stephan earned his real estate license shortly after leaving school, at the age of 18. Contrary to other realtors, Stephan focused on areas that are ignored by real estate agents. This resulted in him earning relatively less than other realtors. He would also offer to take higher quality photos of property for real estate ads for other realtors, and would get a commission from the money earned.
His strategy made him incredibly successful, much more so than his peers. According to his website, he has sold over $125 million in real estate. Due to his earnings from real estate, he became a millionaire at the age of 26. He has worked with famous clients such as Orlando Bloom and Chloe Grace Moretz. His work has been featured on the television shows Selling Sunset and Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles.
Stephan also teaches about real estate. He has spoken across the United States and Canada teaching new investors how to purchase real estate. He also made an online course called The Real Estate Agent Academy which aims to achieve the same goal.
Stephan is currently a real estate agent for The Oppenheim Group. [5]
YouTube
Stephan started his main channel in 2016. Common topics include financial independence, saving money, investing money, and real estate investing. Stephan's philosophy is to save money whenever possible. [6]
He also started a second channel, The Graham Stephan Show, which follows a more raw format, and primarily focuses on reactions to other financial-related videos. He has reacted to YouTubers such as PewDiePie, Pokimane and Tiffany Ma.
Outside of his own YouTube, he has been featured on an episode of Spectrum from Jubilee.[7]
With over 4 million subscribers on YouTube and nearly half a million followers on Instagram, Stephan uses these platforms to educate his audience about financial literacy, investment strategies, and market trends.
The Iced Coffee Hour
In 2020, Stephan launched The Iced Coffee Hour, a podcast hosted by Stephan and co-host Jack Selby. The podcast features interviews with various entrepreneurs, investors, and creators, providing listeners with practical advice and inspiration in financial literacy and entrepreneurship.
Bankroll Coffee
Stephan launched his coffee brand, Bankroll Coffee, offering a selection of coffee products that can be brewed at home, aligning with Stephan's philosophy that every dollar saved can be invested for future growth. The brand promotes the idea of saving money by making coffee at home instead of purchasing expensive drinks from cafes.
Personal Life
Stephan lives in his duplex in Los Angeles. He owns five rental properties in Los Angeles and San Bernadino County. Despite his frugal nature he has spend $20 grand on a watch which stirred the humor of his fanbase.[8] He advises against spending money on designer cloths and coffee.[9]
Stephan is in a relationship with a woman named Savannah. The couple have a pet cat.
