Gora is a small village of 2841 hectares in Chohtan Tehsil in Barmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Gora depends on BARMER, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Gora is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Gora's pin code is 344704[4], and village code is 02266000. The area of Gora is segregated as 1504.87 hectares irrigated area, 1000 hectares unirrigated, remaining 336.15 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Barmer to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
