Jauhmierre Auhtraielle Jae’Veon Parker (born July 31st, 1996), known professionally as Good God, is an American rapper and songwriter. He is known for his distinct tone on beat and his wordplay and delivery of lyrics in his songs. He is also particularly known for his often mention of marijuana and lean among other drugs brought up in his music.
Good God released his album titled “Cxld Wxrld" on January 11th, 2020. His most popular single off of the album titled “I Hope You Know Your Alone” is a track that features him rapping over a sad instrumental.[1]
History
Early years and Formation (2014–2016)
Good God first began rapping as a hobby. Before officially becoming an artist he would freestyle with the original creator of the label “2316 Tha Company”, Ryan Dixon. The idea of the name came from a thought that Ryan had to combine the area code of his hometown in Wichita,Kansas and the area code of Cleveland,Ohio, where he stayed at the time. After Ryan’s tragic death in a robbery attempt, Jauhmierre went on to continue the label and brand that Ryan created and to craft his own signature sound under the stage name Good God.
Style and Influences
Good God’s influences include RD, XXXTentacion, KiD CuDi, Lil Peep, Juice Wrld, Joji, The Weeknd, Current Joys , Lil Wayne, Eminem, Kanye West, Drake, Ice Cube, N.W.A, and ASAP Rocky. A lot of Good God’s work has been inspired by Hip-Hop, R&B, Lo-fi, Pop and Rap. A lot of his songs contain slow euphoric instrumentals. Good God uses a variety of punchlines, wordplay, and rhyme schemes to engage his audience. He sometimes uses his label name “2316” as a tag in his songs to let his listeners know it is him rapping.
While generally considered a Hip-Hop artist, Good God has also been labeled as Cloud Rap, Lo-fi, and Alternative. His debut album mixed Lo-fi and Rap. His lyrics focus on emotional stress, life events, drugs, and personal alienation rather than traditional Rap themes. Good God also includes singing vocals, samples, and auto tune among other elements he uses in his music.
