GoodEnough Energy Private Limited is an Indian battery energy storage company founded in 2015 and headquartered in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The company was established by a team of experienced professionals in the clean energy sector.[3] GoodEnough Energy is incorporated honouring Nobel Laureate Professor John B. Goodenough, the inventor of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, with whom the company collaborated during its inception.[3] The company aims to address India's growing need for battery energy storage systems (BESS) by offering modular, intelligent solutions suited for industrial, EV, and renewable energy sectors.[3] In 2024, GoodEnough Energy announced a ₹450 crore investment to build India's largest battery storage gigafactory in Jammu and Kashmir. The facility will begin operations with a 7 GWh capacity and is projected to expand to 20 GWh by 2026.[4][5] The gigafactory initiative was showcased at the SESI 2024 conference, receiving attention from top renewable energy leaders and government representatives.[6]
Funding and Endorsements
In March 2024, GoodEnough Energy secured ₹450 crore (~US$54 million) to fund the construction of the Jammu and Kashmir gigafactory.[7] The plant's first phase includes a 7 GWh manufacturing capacity, with future scaling to 20 GWh by 2026.[4][8] The project is expected to support India's clean energy transition by reducing up to 5 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually at initial capacity, and up to 15 million tonnes when fully operational.[9]
