Glenda Allen (born 1953) is a British actress and model. She played various background characters in the 1975 TV series Space:1999. She also had lead roles in Jess Franco's Les ebranlees (Dolls for Sale) (1972) and Un Silencio de Tumba (Silence of the Grave) (1976).
Space:1999
Allen's 13 appearances in Space:1999[1] playing at least five separate characters spanning the two seasons of the series. While primarily playing a command centre Alphan named G.Allen (as seen on her name badge) she also played an unnamed medical centre nurse as well as a technician named L. Picard (normally played by Jenny Creswell in the series). Often the Alphan name badges were mixed up and the actress would be wearing someone else's badge.[1] Allen also portrayed a survivor of the Ultima Thule Mission and one of the "numbers" on the planet Vega. While most of her appearances were non-speaking she did have lines of dialog in the episodes "The Exiles" and "The Bringer's of Wonder".[1] As was the case with television back in the 1970s before mainstream home video recordings, background characters were often shifted around in various parts with the thought that audiences would not notice.[1] This gives Allen the distinction of playing the most characters in the series.
