Givtti Shandon, (born Gifty Asante on July 4, 1990), is a Ghanaian singer known for her blend of Afrobeats, highlife, contemporary R&B and rap. She gained prominence in the Ghanaian music scene with her hit song "We Don't Play" and has continued to build her fan base with subsequent releases.[1]
Early life and education
Givtti Shandon is the daughter of Yaw Asante and Rose Appiah. She hails from a family of musicians from Kintampo in the Bono East area. She began singing at an early age, performing in church and at various social events. She graduated from Abuakwa State College, Kyebi and completed her undergraduate studies at Central University, Ghana, where she majored in Communication Studies.[2]
Career
Givtti Shandon initially began her career as an actress[3] before making the transition to music in 2021. Her debut music video was to her song "We Don't Play". She has since released several successful singles, including "We outside", "EGO" (featuring Lyrical Joe), and "I dey Enter Your Eye". In 2024, Givtti Shandon released the single "Goodbye".[1]
