Giovanni Liverani (* June 1, 1964 in Udine, Italy) is an Italian manager, CEO of Generali Deutschland.[1] Throughout his career he worked for Assicurazioni Generali and was co-founder of the Italian direct-selling insurer Genertel.[2] In 2019 Liverani was the only Italian citizen among the 100 best managers in the ranking "Deutschland Manager".[3]
Career
Liverani took his high-school diploma from the Liceo Maffei in Verona, Italy. He graduated in Engineering in 1990 at the “Polytechnic University of Milan” with a major in industrial technology. In 1991 he became a development engineer at the head office of Assicurazioni Generali in Trieste. He was co-founder and member of the management of Genertel, the direct insurance company of the Assicurazioni Generali Group in Italy. Subsequently he was Regional Area Manager for Germany and Austria and Head of the Central Europe Unit at Assicurazioni Generali. Since 2013 he has held various management positions throughout the Generali Group: As Head of Business Performance Management Central Europe, Liverani supervised the insurance business in Italy, Germany and Switzerland and as Regional Officer he was responsible for the insurance business in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa).[4] On April 1, 2015 he took up his position as CEO of Generali Deutschland.[5] In addition, Liverani has been a member of the international Generali Group Management Committee since 2013.[6]
