Gilund is a small village of 2629 hectares in Chittaurgarh Tehsil in Chittorgarh district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Gilund depends on Chittaurgarh, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Gilund is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Gilund's pin code is 312612[4], and village code is 03613100. The area of Gilund is segregated as 121.46 hectares irrigated area, 896.12 hectares unirrigated, the 476.66 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 210.26 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Chittaurgarh and Chittorgarh to sell ghee and make their living.
