Ghaziabad is a city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and is a part of the Delhi National Capital Region. It is the biggest city in western Uttar Pradesh and serves as the administrative capital of the Ghaziabad district. The city has a population of 1,729,000 people. The Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation is split up into five different zones: the City Zone, Kavi Nagar Zone, Vijay Nagar Zone, and Mohan Nagar Zone. Vasundhara Zone is the fifth and final zone. There are one hundred different wards that make up the Municipal Corporation. It is a significant rail crossroads for all of North India because to its excellent road and rail connections.

It is considered to be the "Saya of Uttar Pradesh" due to its proximity to New Delhi and its location on the primary highway leading into Uttar Pradesh. According to a poll conducted by the City Mayors Foundation, the city's recent building works have contributed to the city's ranking as the second fastest-growing in the world. Located on the Upper Gangetic Plains, the city is split into two main sections by the river that runs through the middle of it: Trans-Hindon on the western side and Cis-Hindon on the eastern side.
