Ekkiden has an ecosystem of consultants, internal employees and freelancers that work in their field projects with an innovative and transformational approach.[5]

This project was founded in Lyon, France, in June 2019[6] and has sustainably grown in its following years, despite the COVID-19 pandemic. The T Swiss group, ELCA, joined the project in early 2019, partnering with Ekkiden.[7]

The company’s name comes from the Japanese term “ekiden”, which represents a relay race marathon, symbolising the importance of teamwork inside the company.[8][9] Ekkiden is present in Europe, and has 8 offices in four countries: France, Spain, Switzerland, and Germany. As of September 2023, the company has 200 employees of 22 different nationalities working in 15 countries.[5]

In April 2023, Ekkiden obtained the EcoVadis silver certification that placed the company among the top 25% of sustainable companies.[10] A Code of Ethics and a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee was created in 2023.[10] Ekkiden became a member of the United Nations Global Compact in March 2023.[11]
