Gennaro Brooks-Church (born February 16, 1971) is a Spanish-American entrepreneur, educator, and photographer.[1] He is best known for his work as a green builder and his efforts to promote sustainable living through his companies, EcoBrooklyn and Brooklyn Soil, as well as his organic CBD energy drink, DrinkSuccess.[2]
In his early career, Brooks-Church travelled to 17 countries over the course of ten years, photographing Roma (Gypsies) and taking over 64,000 photographs.[3]
Brooks-Church is also recognized for his expertise in green building, and his company EcoBrooklyn specializes in living walls and moss walls. He is also the founder of Brooklyn Soil, a soil remediation company.[4]
Early life and education
Brooks-Church was born on 16 February 1971 in Berkeley, California. Right frim his childhood, he was inclined towards art and photography. He completed a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University in New York and knows both English and Spanish.
Career
After graduating from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Brooks-Church pursued a career as an entrepreneur, educator, and photographer. He traveled to 17 countries over ten years to photograph Roma (Gypsies) and took over 64,000 photographs, which he has used to educate and promote understanding of the Roma culture.[5]
Brooks-Church is best known for his work as a green builder and his efforts to promote sustainable living. In 2003, he founded EcoBrooklyn, a green building company that specializes in creating living walls and moss walls. The company has completed numerous projects in New York City and has been featured in publications such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Elle Decor.[6]
In 2010, Brooks-Church founded Brooklyn Soil, a soil remediation company that uses natural processes to clean contaminated soil. The company has worked on projects throughout New York City and has received recognition for its innovative and environmentally friendly methods.[7]
In addition to his work in green building, Brooks-Church is also the founder of DrinkSuccess, an organic CBD energy drink. The drink is made from all-natural ingredients and is designed to provide a healthy and sustainable alternative to traditional energy drinks.[8]
Brooks-Church is a respected educator in the field of green building and has taught numerous workshops and classes on sustainable living. He has also been a guest speaker at events such as the Green Building Expo and the EcoSalon.[9]
Throughout his career, Brooks-Church has been committed to promoting sustainable living and has received recognition for his efforts. He was named a "Green Building Pioneer" by GreenHomeNYC and has been featured in numerous publications, including Forbes, Time Out New York, and The Huffington Post.
Personal life
In his personal life, Brooks-Church has three children with his ex-wife Loretta Gendville. He describes himself as a spiritual person, but does not adhere to any specific religion.
