Gene Hughes (died Feb. 22, 2021[1]) was a Computer Scientist at Datapoint Corporation.
Notable work
- Assisted with the creation of ARCNET.[2]
- Author of the ATA NetBIOS.[2]
- Designed DataPoint's Advanced Systems Language.[2][3]
History
Gene Hughes was hired by Datapoint at some point before 1983, and then left before 1998 and got a job with the IP Appliance Group of Northern Telecom (now known as Nortel)[2]
