Geek Boy (born Al Swettenham[1]) is a British musician, songwriter, and record producer[2].

He have worked and contributed music to Arashi, SF9 (band), Taeyeon, Cravity, The Boyz (South Korean band), Exo-CBX and Rocket Girls 101.

Career

Geek Boy have worked with several J-pop and K-pop artists. When he wrote the song `Good Guy´ for SF9, it was a decisive event that defined him as an established producer in K-pop and J-pop[3]. The music video for `Good Guy´ surpassed ten million viewers in three days and the song debuted as #58 on the Oricon Albums Chart|real time chart[4] and #2 in The Oricon Singles Chart and won the group their first M Countdown award[5]. Other songs that Swettenham have written for SF9 is the song `Forever´[6] and `Now or never´ which reached #1 in the Oricon charts[7] and contributed to SF9 winning the Rising Star Award at Asia Artist Awards[8]. He wrote the song `Stay´ for Cravity´s debut album ‘Season 1. Hideout: Remember Who We Are[9] and `Realize´ for their following album `Season 2. Hideout: The New Day We Step Into´. He also wrote the song `Horizon´ for Taeyeon´s EP Voice (Taeyeon EP).

He is also credited as the songwriter for many major J-pop artist´s songs, where the most famous is Arashi. He produced the song A-ra-shi: Reborn and Arashi Reborn Vol.1|A Day In Our Life: Reborn and participated as a producer on their album This Is Arashi[10].

Games

Geek Boy describes himself as a big fan of video games and highlights The Legend of Zelda, Sonic the Hedgehog and Super Mario and their scores as sources of musical inspiration[11].
