Gatsinda Jean Paul A.k.a Jay P (born November 20, 1982), better known by his stage name Jay P Production, is a Rwandan musician and Music Producer. Based in Brussels, Belgium, he began his career in 2003 he stands out as a producer in the Rwandan modern music scene.
Following the 1994 genocide of the Tutsis in Rwanda has seen remarkable contributions from as a young audio producer and sound engineer who collaborates with various local artists and musicians in the region. His broad professional background encompasses beat-making, composition, recording, mixing, and mastering at numerous music production studios and creative agencies across Kigali, Rwanda..[1]
He is also the founder and Creative Director of 08 Records Ltd, a Kigali based record company that has produced and released songs for artists such as Kitoko Bibarwa, Miss Jojo, the former KGB Group, Rafiki, The Ben, Miss Shanel, Rideman, King James[2], Nsengiyumva francois[3] and Clovis….[4]
Early life
Jay P was born on November 20, 1982, and grew up in Kicukiro, Kigali, Rwanda. During his formative years, he became a member of Rwanda for Jesus church, where he showcased his musical talents as a pianist, bass guitarist, and tenor vocalist. He also took on the role of an engineer, contributing to various performances. Notably, he has participated in several live concerts alongside the musical group, the Sowers[5]
Since 2003, Jay P has dedicated a significant portion of his day to producing beats and mixing songs, both locally in Rwanda and internationally. He has also contributed his expertise as a sound engineer and content producer for various radio and television advertisements. Currently, he is advancing his career as an artist in Belgium, where he is a member of the music group Giant Tree.
