Garfield Doakes is an entrepreneur and the principal owner of the Hazy Leaf Dispensary and a partner in total health care FDSM. Garfield was the former CEO of Intergrative Focus Incoporated Mental Health and owned a DUI school from 2010-2015. Doakes is an Active Member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and is the 33rd president of Beta Eta Lambda.
Garfield Doakes was raised in Anadarko, Oklahoma and was a member of the Greater First Baptist Church. Doakes attended Anadarko High School Anadarko Oklahoma and while in High School he wrestled and boxed. He was an amateur welter weight Golden Glove boxing Champion and lettered in Wrestling. Garfield graduated from High School in 1982 and enrolled into the University of Central Oklahoma on a fully funded wrestling scholarship. Doakes comes from a family of entrepreneurs and military veterans. His father Garfield Doakes Sr, served in the United States Navy for 7 years and his mother Connie "Nuckols" was a hard working family oriented woman. She worked for Sequoyah Carpet Mill and as a night manager for a convenience store. She also worked at the University of Oklahoma food service department as a head cook.
Life and Career
Doakes launched a successful career in automotive and sales. In 1993 Garfield launched his first business "The Brickhouse (nightclub/lounge)" in Oklahoma City. The club was in the Bricktown and made $1 million within it's first year of operations. Garfield Doakes later became a board member of Apec Inc and the Caddo County Chamber of Commerce. In 2010, he opened a mental health agency that is now valued at over $2.3 million. Doakes also opened a substance abuse school, The Best of You DUI that operates from Oklahoma County to Caddo County. He also owned a non-profit summer enrichment program for children ages 8-14 that teaches sign language, Spanish, Italian, and other languages. Presently, Garfield resides in Edmond, Oklahoma, where he has 4 children and raises awareness and educates his community on natural medicines and medicinal applications of cannabis.
Awards and Achievements
Garfield has raised over $4.3 million for the used car department in Toyota. He won the Toyota Industry Excellence award in his region. This award was recognition of his excellent customer service ratings and his results financially for Toyota in sales and marketing. Doakes worked for Toyota for 14 years; in addition he worked for Jackie Cooper BMW, and Eskridge Lexus. Garfield worked one year with Mr. Ross Perot as a marketing specialist. Doakes was the 33rd President of Beta Eta Lambda. His greatest achievement as the President of the Beta Eta Lambda was taking the chapter to runner up for Chapter of the year out of 706 chapters. During his tenure the chapter awarded over $300,000 in scholarships.
