Garden Mart is a Nepalese retail chain of hypermarkets, discount department stores, and grocery stores. The retail chain was founded by Kedarnath Sharma under his parent company Shikhar Organization,[1]which is known for having a significant prominence in Nepalese retail and trading sectors. Garden Mart performs it's regular business with the assistance from its parental financial cooperatives named Tulasi Cooperative and Shiv Shikhar Cooperative both based in Nepal. Garden Mart Department Store plans to launch upto 200 stores nationwide by the end of 2021 ( 2077 B.S).[2]
Founded in 2020[3] garden mart has provided job opportunity to more than 50 Nepalese youth present of the country.
History
Garden Mart was founded in 2020 by Kedarnath Sharma, the founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of the parent company Shikhar Organization[4].Garden Mart was established with the main purpose of creating easy shopping for Nepalese citizens towards grocery and clothing items. Garden Mart is the sole distributor of Shikhar Water Pump[5], Upakar Tea , Upakar Tractor as well as other products manufactured by its parental company.
With this generation being more inclined towards digital connectivity, garden mart has worked with IMS Software of Nepal and developed its own shopping app named Garden Mart Department Store.[6] Garden Mart has also partenered with its parental company Techno Dawn to establish its own E-commerce website, upakarpasal.com (under development)[7]
