Gangmau is a small village of 68.38 hectares in Fatehpur Tehsil in Barabanki district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Gangmau depends on Fatehpur (NP) , the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tubewell and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sourcesOne canal. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Gangmau's pin code is 225305[4], and village code is 05704800. The area of Gangmau is segregated as 135.364 hectares irrigated area, 67.682 hectares unirrigated area. the 0.693 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Fatehpur (NP) and Barabanki to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
