Gancim is a small village of 303 hectares in Tiswadi Tehsil in North Goa district, known and rated to have the best quality of life in India (based on the commission’s “12 Indicators”)[2] in the state of Goa, India.[3] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Gancim depends on GOA VELHA, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[4] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and One spring. Gancim is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Gancim's pin code is 403108[5], and village code is 00007900. The area of Gancim is segregated as 4.81 hectares irrigated area, 277.07 hectares unirrigated, the 6.82 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 14.07 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The village is connected with a single bus service. Gancim has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Gancim is a census village in the district of North Goa, Goa. The village has a total population of 519 and has total administration over 113 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

The workforce is 161 male, 69 female with 188 (81.74%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 141 males and 47 females. 16 males and 9 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 1 female agricultural labor. 42 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of GOA VELHA and North Goa to sell cashew nuts and make their living.
