Gamnewala is a small village of 2870 hectares in Jaisalmer Tehsil in Jaisalmer district, nicknamed ""The Golden city"" in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Gamnewala depends on JAISALMER, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Gamnewala is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Gamnewala's pin code is 345022[4], and village code is 02016000. The area of Gamnewala is segregated as the 2296 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 574 hectare area not available for cultivation.
