Galenos Publishing House is a Turkish-based publishing company which was established in Istanbul in 1997 to publish periodical journals and books with content of academic articles and knowledge in science and medicine.

Galenos, in adopting its name, was inspired by one of the most important physicians of Ancient Rome and the founder of experimental physiology, Gallienus.

Galenos publishes more than 3,000 articles annually in more than 50 journals, along with more than 70 books. Total yearly downloads amount to more than 3 million. It provides services by improving journal publication standards, making them eligible for application and indexing of these journals in international databases. Galenos is also an official member of EASE.[1]

Embracing the mission to provide global access to knowledge produced by researchers in medicine, Galenos Publishing House publishes journals according to the criteria set by the international databases and provides consulting and implementation services to the editorial boards and journals.

Business Model

Galenos journals are open access publications, and authors are not charged any submission or publication fee. All users connected to a server can access Galenos' publications free of charge. Open access publications follow the same processes (e.g., peer review) as paid publications, but provide open access to the content of publications.
