Gabriele Gorelli is an Italian wine expert and the very first[1] Italian Master of Wine.[2]

He was born in 1984 in Montalcino, a wine-producing town in Tuscany where he still resides. In 2004 Gabriele Gorelli founded a design agency specializing in fine wine visual communication. In 2015 he founded a second company for wine consultancy. In 2021, Gorelli qualified as one of 418 Masters of Wine in the world at that time.[3] His final research paper for the Institute of Masters of Wine focused on Quercetin precipitation in Brunello di Montalcino and the organic fining methods to prevent this phenomenon occurring in the bottle.

In 2021 he was listed as one of the 40 under 40 Wine Industry Leaders for Fortune Italia.[4]

His is Golden Vines Ambassador[5] for Italy. This annual event raises funds in the name of fellow Master of Wine, Gerard Basset, to support diversity and inclusion scholarships for the wine industry.[6] Other roles include: Faculty Worldwide Ambassador for Fondazione Banfi[7] and Ambassador for Vinventions.[8] He is a consultant for Les Grands Chais de France[9] and is on the Scientific Committee of Qualivita.[10] He participates in wine events worldwide; for example World Lambrusco Day[11] in Paris in 2023 and Masterclasses at 67 Pall Mall in London[12] in addition to attending wine competitions as a judge[13] or as a speaker[14] and writing as a contributor for various Italian and global publications. In 2021 he was Chairman of 5Starwines.[15]

Since May 2023 he is an honorary member of Fondazione Altagamma.[16]
