Gabby DaRienzo is an artist, video game developer and speaker.

Early Life

After attending George Brown College from 2008 to 2011, DaRienzo earned her degree in Graphic Design.


DaRiezo’s work in the games industry began with her job at XMG Studio. In her first role, she worked as a graphic designer creating marketing materials and website imagery. She then was transferred into a game artist role where she created game assets and UI work.

In 2015, DaRiezo began to work as a freelance artist for Sago Mini. She created the artwork for several games for this company, and also designed two playsets.

She also freelanced as a graphic designer for other games. She created the logo for Blasters of the Universe, and consulted the World of Peppa Pig team, to develop UI/UX design. For the game Parkitect, she worked as a 3D artist. She conceptualized and created props, decorations, and a DLC for the game.

In 2017, DaRiezo began her next freelance game artist role for the critically-acclaimed game, Celeste (video game). She created the 3D assets for the games menu and map screens.

DaRiezo worked as an art director for two of Vertex Pop’s titles: Super Crush KO, and Graceful Explosion Machine. She developed the 2D art assets, UI and logos for both games.

In 2016, DaRiezo co-founded Laundry Bear Games. She was the creative director, artist and game developer for their critically-acclaimed title A Mortician's Tale. She acts as a member of their board of directors.

DaRiezo is currently working as Senior Game Artist at Drinkbox Studios, in Toronto, Canada. She has performed in this role since September 2019. One of the games she’s developed in her time there thus far is Nobody Saves the World.

Beyond the game development industry. DaRiezo has also given a number of speeches. She has spoked at the Game Developers Conference, Full Indie Summit, and Fantastic Arcade.
