Gúnar Armin Halboth (Rio de Janeiro, March 21, 1967) is a Brazilian Aircraft aviator, known for his aerobatic flights and 9 world records recognized by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale.[1]

Biography

Born in the capital of the Rio de Janeiro in 1967, Gúnar soon moved with his family to the mountain town of Petrópolis. There he began his involvement with aviation while still a child, through model aircrafts. He enjoyed building and designing model free-launch gliders, cable-controlled and radio-controlled kits. On his tenth birthday he was gifted a panoramic flight on a Paulistinha in Rio de Janeiro.

At 16 years old, at the Juiz de Fora Aero Club, started flying gliders and got his license, then at 19 he got his job as an airplane flight instructor. Not long after he got his IFR license and focused on this type of instruction, followed by multiengines. Halboth then proceeded working with executive aviation, moving to comercial flights at Varig, EVA Air, Shenzhen Airlines and Ryanair, and finally returning to executive flights, where he now pilots helicopters.[2]

Sports Aviation

Gúnar started his involvement with sports aviation just after learning to fly. He has performed and competed in various types of gliders and airplanes. Throughout his carreer he is mostly associated to Pitts S-1S, DR-107 One Design, CEA-308 and CEA-311 Anequim.
