Fund platforms, also known as investment platforms, are web-based services that facilitate the purchase of assets. Investments may be made more easily or at a lower cost using fund platforms.

Purchased investments may often be kept in a variety of tax-efficient wrappers on the same platform as they were made. Shares, bonds, and a wide variety of funds managed by various asset allocators may be bought using them. The types of investments available for purchase on each service's platform are different.

There are two main categories of fund platforms, namely, fund wraps and fund supermarkets. Investors may access their account information using online wrap services. Investors and financial advisors alike may utilize online "fund supermarkets" to purchase funds at low commission rates on behalf of their clients.
