Fudeko Takahashi

Fudeko Takahashi (Japanese language:ja:高橋筆子|高橋筆子; born October 25, 1955) is a Japanese violinist and violin teacher.

Biography

Fudeko Takahashi received her early musical training in Japan, winning First Prize in the Student Music Concours of Japan [1] and becoming the youngest finalist in the :ja:日本音楽コンクール|Music Competition of Japan[2] . She subsequently received Fourth Prize at the Paganini Competition[3], becoming the first Japanese citizen to do so without studying outside of Japan.

After graduating from the Toho Gakuen School of Music, Takahashi won the Seiji Ozawa fellowship to the Tanglewood Music Center, where she served as concertmaster. Thereafter, she studied with Dorothy DeLay at the Juilliard School and the New England Conservatory of Music, where she received her Artist Diploma[4] .

Takahashi serves on faculty at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School[4]. She is the recipient of the special Teacher Recognition Award from the National Foundation for the Advancement in the Arts.
