Frank Frigo became the world champion of backgammon for the second time in July 2023. He defeated Mario Kuhl of Germany in the final of the World Championships held in Monte Carlo. Frigo last won the championship in 1994. He is now one of only seven multiple winners of the event in the 54 year history. His span of 29 years between championships is a record.[1]
Frank Frigo is also the previous founder of EdjSports and is regarded as one of the founding fathers of American football analytics along with physicist Charles Bower PhD.[2] Their revolutionary simulation model has been used by more than one third of NFL teams and played an integral role in the Super Bowl championships of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.[3]
