Fortis Healthcare Limited (FHL) is an Indian multinational corporation that operates a network of private hospitals with its headquarters in New Delhi. Fortis began providing health-care services in Mohali, where the company's first hospital was established in 1982. Later on, the hospital chain acquired the healthcare division of the Escorts company, allowing it to expand its presence across the nation. The Escorts Heart and Research Center, located in Okhla, Delhi, has grown to become a significant operational unit for the group. The Fortis Medical Research Institute (FMRI) hospital in Gurgaon serves as the company's headquarters, and it houses all of the company's primary facilities. Currently, the organisation provides healthcare delivery services in India, Dubai, and Sri Lanka via a network of 36 healthcare institutions in these countries.

IHH Healthcare, a Malaysian business, has acquired a 31.1 percent interest in Fortis Healthcare Ltd, making it the company's majority shareholder. A meeting conducted in Mohali also saw the appointment of four members from IHH Healthcare to the board of directors of Fortis Healthcare. A preferential issuance of approximately 230 million shares was authorised by the board of directors to Northern TK Venture Pte Ltd, a fully owned indirect subsidiary of IHH Healthcare, at a price of 170 Singapore dollars per share with a face value of S$10 per share.
