William Fitchett Means (born February 15, 1998, Philadelphia) better known by his stage name, Fitch Means is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and musical influencer. He is known for his versatility in the entertainment industry and his EPs have been widely acclaimed by the critics. Fitch Means began performing as a teenager and was very popular for his gigs at regional venues at his university. He is the founder of the label, Fitch Means, and has co-founded Sitadel Records and Black Point LLC.[1]

Fitch Means is a popular name for sponsored video shoots and events. He has gained early popularity with his albums, Declaration, and 2am Drive.

Early life and education

Fitch Means was born to Charna Patrice Fitchett-Means and Isaac Means. He spent his childhood at Mt. Airy, Philadelphia. His parents recognized his passion and love for music when he started playing drums at the age of 6. He joined the school gospel choir to enhance his singing skills and after completing school, he attended Lock Haven University for further education. During his time at the university, he was widely recognized for his playing numerous short gigs at regional venues in the University.[2][3]


He started his professional music career under the name Fitch Means in 2018. He released his first single, “Secrets”, which gained popularity and he was well praised for his first single. On 30 March 2019, Means released his first EP, Declaration under his own label Fitch Means. In June 2019, he was invited to perform and entertain at the largest African American street festival in the United States, Odunde Festival.[4]

Means was sponsored to shoot the video ‘Millions’ in Jamaica! Signed to Fitch Means (label) in 2018. His music video for the song ‘Millions’ was picked up by VHI India. Means released 2 am Drive was released as a single, then after seeing the popularity he released full EP 2am Drive on 30 November 2019. In 2020, he signed a contract to Sitadel Records (label) and collaborated to launch a clothing brand.[5]
