Fiorenzo Tagliabue, (born May 6, 1950), is an Italian journalist and entrepreneur founder of SEC Newgate Group.

Early years

After his final exam (maturità) at Liceo classico, he obtains his BA in History and Philosophy at Università degli Studi di Firenze.

He’s registered to the Italian Association of professional Journalists from December 12, 1978. The same year, he founded with Vittorio Citterich the weekly magazine “Il Sabato”; from 1983 to 1989 he was the managing director of Nuova Editoriale Italiana spa (editor of daily Avvenire). From 1986 to 1986 he launched the start-up Vatican Television Centre and he was appointed as the first general secretary with a three-year mandate.

Establishment and internationalisation of SEC

In 1989, he founded SEC (Societas Europaea ad Communicationes) in Milan (now SEC Newgate Italia srl Società benefit), which he turns into the major Italian public relations consultancy, specialised in advocacy and corporate communications. Among the projects managed by SEC, the urban redevelopment of Porta Nuova in Milan (Gruppo Coima), and of the old Trade Fair Quarter in Citylife, gruppo Generali-Allianz), as well as the candidacy of Milan to host Expo 2015 and the management of Media Centre for Expo 2015 in Milan.

Fiorenzo Tagliabue played a pivotal role in the internationalisation of SEC SpA.[1] that he steered across several crucial stage from 2013 onward[2], including the listing at the London Stock Exchange (AIM Segment) in July 26 2016 (until March 2022), the merging with PORTA plc (a PR Group focused on financial communication) that brought to the formation of SEC Newgate Group on 2 September 2019 and finally the engagement of Three Hills Capital Partners as financial partner and minority shareholders[3] of the Group, when it delisted from London Stock Exchange (February 2022) as a consequence of this reorganization.

In February 2023 he received the SABRE Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement awarded by PRovoke Media[4]
