Fereydun Vahman (Persian: فریدون وهمان) is an Iranian author and philologist. He is Professor Emeritus at Copenhagen University and former Iranian Studies Fellow at Yale University.[1]

After the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979, he wrote several books in Danish, English and Persian supporting the rights of Baháʼís in Iran.[2]

Life

Vahman pioneered to Denmark as a part of the Bahá'í teaching plans. He became a member of the first Danish Bahá'í National Spiritual Assembly established in 1962.[3] Vahman holds a PhD in Iranian Philology from the University of Copenhagen.[4]

This book is the first to fully academically document the systematic persecution of the Bahà'ì faith since its inception in Iran. It provides a chronological timeline of the religion's plight. The book is banned in Iran.[5]
