Fquiere Lucien was born on December 14, 1956, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He is a Haitian singer and entrepreneur who has been in the Haitian music industry since 1978.

Early Life

Féquière Lucien[1] was born on December 14, 1956 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti of Haitian Parents, Philistin Lucien and Elizabeth Bellevue. He studied at Saint Louis de Gonzague and Gregoire Eugene before leaving for the United States. At the age of 12, Féquière was very interested in playing guitar and singing and had no idea what would become of it. By the time he was 14 years of age, his parents decided to send him abroad to continue his studies. Féquière spent 3 months in New York City with his family before migrating to Boston where it is said to have better schools and opportunities.

Career

In 1978, a popular Haitian group called Volo Volo de Boston [2]was looking for a new singer to replace Ti Manno[3]. Féquière Lucien, who was an unknown artist at the time, was referred amongst others to Hans Felix[4], The band Leader, for an audition. Fequiere was chosen to join the group as Lead Vocalist amongst so many who auditioned for the spot. He was 22 years old.

Féquière Lucien[5] recorded several albums with Volo Volo de Boston[6] and other musical projects along the way with other musicians. Popular albums he sings are: La-Nature, Nou Nan Route, 14 Karat Gold, 33rd anniversary and which included songs such as: Do it, Fè kow sekwé, Ayanman, Nou nan route, Mélodie, Minouche, Party time, Gason pale, Haïti, Yon sél Volo... Other Albums include:Racines and Konneksyon.
