Fengru Lin is the CEO and co-founder of TurtleTree, a US and Singapore-based biotech startup using cell-based technology to create sustainable food products.[1][2][3]

Education and Early Career

Lin attended Singapore Management University (SMU), graduating in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems Management.[4] She then went on to establish a career in corporate sales at various companies including Google and Salesforce.[5][6]

Entrepreneurship

While working at Google, Lin met California native Max Rye, who was visiting the company for a sharing session on transformative technologies. The pair subsequently discussed the possibility of using similar methods to create milk, ultimately going on to co-found TurtleTree in 2019.[7][8]

Public Recognition

EDGE 35 Under 35

Lin was selected for a spot on EDGE’s "35 Under 35" list in 2020. The list recognizes young founders below the age of 35 in Singapore who have made significant contributions to the Singaporean startup ecosystem.[9]

Gen.T List

For her work in making milk more sustainable and nutritious, Lin won a spot on the 2021 edition of the Gen.T List, which highlights 300 leaders who are positively shaping Asia’s future.[10][11]

Her World Young Woman Achiever

Lin received Her World's Young Woman Achiever award in 2021. The award, which recognizes young women who are making a positive impact on the world, acknowledged Lin's work in disrupting the dairy industry with TurtleTree.[12][13]
