Often referred to as Womanliness, Femininity refers to a collection of characteristics, behaviours, and tasks that are often associated with women and girls. There is some evidence that some behaviours that are deemed feminine are impacted by both cultural influences and biological elements. Femininity may be regarded as a social construction, and there is also some evidence that certain behaviours are influenced by both. There is a lot of discussion over whether or not biological or societal factors have a greater impact on femininity. It is conceptually separate from both the female biological sex and from womanhood. This is due to the fact that all individuals, regardless of sex and gender, are capable of exhibiting both feminine and masculine characteristics.

Even though characteristics associated with femininity can vary between societies and individuals and are influenced by a wide range of social and cultural factors, certain characteristics, such as gracefulness, gentleness, empathy, humility, and sensitivity, have traditionally been identified as belonging to the feminine gender.
