Fazal Abbas Maken is a retired Federal Secretary and Grade 22 officer belonging to the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS).[1] He remained the Cabinet Secretary of Pakistan from 14th August 2018 until his retirement on 21st March 2019.[2][3]

Prior to his posting as Cabinet Secretary, Fazal Abbas Maken was the Federal Secretary/Deputy Minister at Pakistan's Ministry of Food Security and Research.[4][5] He also remained Federal Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology.[6]

After his retirement, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, proposed his name for the post of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of Pakistan.[7][8][9]

He was appointed as the Member of the prestigious Federal Public Service Commission of Pakistan by order of the President of Pakistan on 10 November 2020 for a period of 3 years.[10][11]
