Fawad Shah is a journalist from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir (union territory). He is the founder and editor of a news magazine Kashmir Walla. Fawad was arrested on 4th February 2022 by Jammu and Kashmir police for allegedly glorifying terrorism.[1][2][3] Fawad is the recipient of 25th Human rights press award.[4]

Shah was nominated for Reporters Without Borders award.[5]Fawad received 25th Human rights press award in 2021.[6]
Arrest
Shah has been summoned multiple times by Indian security agencies in reference to the report published by him. On 4th February, Shah was arrested for allegedly glorifying terrorism by Jammu and Kashmir police[7][8][9] and was booked under Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act, 1978.[10]
